I would have your battery tested as well as your alternator. Also, check to see if everything is grounded properly and check your starter. Did you recently install anything on your car?
dan

no prob.. im 99% sure its your battery. has i had the really wiered ticking sound when i was workin on my headlight swap and drained my batter when i was tested the lights out.
The ticking sound is the solinoid in your starter trying to activate but it can't because there isn't enough juice.
Yes your battery is dead....... but how old is it?
Unless you leave your lights on or something... a battery should last you several years. I would still test the charging system to make sure.
You can do it with a volt meter if you know what your doing.
My uncle, who owns an older Cavy and works on 'em regularly says plan on changing battery and alternator every two years.

We all drive in a yellow Cavalier...
i guess i must have the exception to the rule then, or could it be your uncle is speaking from his rectum
If an alternator goes bad every two years then there is something in the electrical system causing it to die.... Take the battery out and go up to whatever parts store is closest to you and have them check the battery and if its still good charge it for you.
My car has the original alternator and battery. Going on 6 years now. Her 6th Birthday is March 21st.

Starts perfectly and runs like a charm. Gone through a few starters though.

I ditched my original battery earlier this fall, after 10 years. The alternator and starter are still original.

Battery is getting ditched this weekend. May need a new starter too...car cranks, but doesn't fire. Battery dies after 10 minutes with the car in the "on" position.
