Wednesday, October 24, 2007 8:18 PM
So when i turn my wheel a quarter of the way to the left and to the right my steering wheel kinda pops i can not hear as much as i can feel it and sometimes i can feel it down on the pedals its weird i checked the power steering fluid and added a litle but i added a little to much so i pumped some out and it was dirty i dunno why. And also when i have my window down and i start off in first in second gear and kinda get after it it sounds kinda like a plastic wrapper is flapping in the wind

any help would be great

That popping could be the intermediate steering shaft in need of lube, there is a kit available from the dealer that takes care of that, or a bad strut mount, or even your tie rod ends. Grease the tie rod ends, see if that helps any.

the "flapping" sound it most likely the seat belt flapping against the 1/4 panel trim. same thing happens in my car with the window all the way down, if you roll it up about 2 inches it stops.

try looking at the lower A-frame bolts i had the same prob on my 2000z24 but in order to check if its loose you have to remove the pitman arm,try to tighten it if it dont tighten then u need a new one,but make sure you put a second jack on the A-frame.

1.remove tire
2.place 2nd jack lightly under a frame
3.5/8 socket remove the pitman arm bolts
4.try to tighten the bolt in between the steel faceing the bumpers
5.replace it if nessery
