I purchased a 96 2.2 cavalier, the previous owner told me that the abs brake pump went bad and his mechanic adapted a regular brake pumpp due to the original one was to be too expensive, thus the abs system does not work, and the abs light on the dash is lit up. I looked around and found all the plugs intact, so I wish to install the original type of abs pump on the car, also because I noticed thast when I brake the car wants to turn right! I guess this is because of using the adapted pump on the car, does anybody have a drawing or schematic of installing the original type of abs pump? I ordered the new one and I would like to see what the original one looks installed. thanks!
For years I depended on my public library for Chilton's auto repair guides....
Hopefully you can access a Chilton's, or similar, at a library....
As to the uneven stopping, pulling to the right, your problem is probably at the wheel cylinders...
