Battery Drain on a sunfire.

Hey everybody, I have a 2003 pontiac sunfire and the battery keeps dying on me if it doesnt get driven enough. Ive taken it into auto shops and they have no idea what it is. They checked the alternator and everything else relating to the problem and they all seem to be in decent condition coming from them. I also have an aftermarket stereo thrown in there with the power hooked directly onto the battery if that has aything to do with it. Any Help or suggestions would be much appriciated.

Thanks

You obviously have a parasitic draw. Something is on that shoudlnt be on.

What I do, is take a multimeter, so it ti millamps. Loosen your negative cable, pull it up about halfway, touch one end of the multimeter to the post, the other to the terminal. Without losing grip on either of them. Then wait a few minutes, to see what the amps go below, should be belwo .050.millamps, if not you have a parasiti draw. interior lights, truck light etc.....

had the same problem with my 04 cav. amperage was in spec for no parasitic draw, but kept eating Optimas like they were candy (replaced 3 times under warranty). Swapped to a standard battery, no more problems.
