My friend (drop top paul) and I changed my exhaust manifold on my 2.4 AT Sunfire. The bracket that bolts in through where the downpipe and exhaust manfiold meet and curves under the transmission....how important is it for this piece to be on there? I know this is probably a stupid question....but it's stuck in there and we can't find a way to get it out lol. Any ideas or input besdies we are morons lol.

I can't really get any pictures, anyone who has taken off an exhaust manfiold would know what i'm talking about.
There are those 4 bolts there that connect the exhaust manifold to the flex pipe. On the actual flex pipe where you slid these bolts through to connect them to the exhaust their a big bolt whole off to the side of it where a bracket bolts in.....does that help explain it any clearer?? sorry for lack of pics.

i have taken off my exhaust manifold and now i have a header. I did this about 5 years ago, so i dont remember any bracket. So since i dont know what youre talking about, it must not hurt anything to leave it off.
This would be the bracket I was talking about. Right now it isn't bolted down it is just wedged inbetween my tranny and oil pan. Is it important for this to be bolted down?
