1998 Sunfire 2.2 Computer Messed Up

after doing some more digging as to why my 98 sunfire had no spark, i looked under the right side headlight and noticed a wiring nightmare.. i would assume that the box that is mounted just behind the right side bumper cover that has the 2 plugs and about 250 wires going to it would be the ECM.. both of the plugs were corroded so bad that once i touched them, they just crumbled in my hand, wires and all.. how would i go about replacing those plugs & the ECM? i really don't want to replace the complete wiring harness.. is it possible to just replace those plugs and the ECM?

You might get away with just cleaning the ECM instead of replacing it. As for the wiring, your better off just replacing the harness, but if you don't want to do it....

You could always trace ALL your wires back to where there in good shape.. cut the wires, and splice in new plugs from a car you find at a junkyard using new wire... but thats a lot of work and can be a wiring nightmare in itself

It would probably be easier just to replace the harness and you would have less problems when it's all done.

May I suggest a better alternative http://www.painlessperformance.com/webcatalog/ this is one of the most elaborate companies out there to best fix a night mare like the one u have. There stuff is 100% good stuff and it should be much easier than looking for a donor or splicing which in it self is a headache and if not done properly can result in shorts, and other issues.
