Anybody know how to do it? Trying to save hundreds of dollars by doing it myself.

I did it in a 97, 4cyl, auto trans once.

I replaced the rack and the lower control arms at the same point, plus removing the control arms you get a few inches of extra room.

Remove wheels, outer tie rods, I removed the ball joints, ABS connectors, bolts for lower control arms. than remove bolts for subframe, you need to support the subframe, with jack stands if your doing this on car ramps, or another type of jack if in the air.

Than remove bolts for rack, remove p/s lines that bolt into the rack.

You will need an aligment afterwards.

You will need an impact gun, and a torch. I guarentee it. Those bolts for the subframe, heat them up and than remove. You dont want those bolts to snap

its really not that hard at all.. its actually held on by like 2 bolts on and a fluid line.. Jack the car up find the bolts connecting the subframe to the car.. drop the subframe get it out of the way and its super easy, undo the tie rods from knuckles 2 bolts holding it to the subframe and the line and ur done.

2 hydraulic fluid lines actually. But yeah, its simple enough, just semi-laborious and a bit time consuming if you've never tackled something like that.
