I see many posts talking about the chain tensioner but nothing about ever replacing the timing chain itself. I am rebuilding the 2.4 motor it has about 155,000 miles on it. Should I replace the timing chain? It looks in good shape but does it fatigue after a certain number of miles???
All chains stretch over time. Since you have it apart I would replace it. If this engine only had 40 or 50 thousand miles it would be an option to reuse, not at 155000 miles
yea, go ahead and replace it, they don't cost all that much.
