I was wondering how much torque you should torque down the bolts on the thermostat housing. If it matters I have a 2.3L Quad 4

just went through my haynes manual, and i didnt see the torque specs for it. i usually just tighten them done to they are failry snug, kind of like a drain plug for oil.

Dunno if the thermostat housing is stamped sheetmetal, or a cast piece, but if its stamped, snug like an oil drain plug sounds good, if its cast, it probably has stops cast around the edge to help prevent warping or cracking it if you overtighten it, similar to the little nubs cast into the perimeter of the 2200 valve cover. A little snugger than the oil drain plug should work on that. As long as you cleaned the gasket surfaces really well, and used a good gasket (or o'ring?), it should seal nice and tight.
