Battery Nut size
Tuesday, July 17, 2007 5:15 AM
Hello All,

I have a quick question.
What is the Nut size and thread (course / fine) is used to keep the battery in place for a 97 2.2 cavalier?

I was doing work on the car last weekend, and when I hit a bump in the road I heard something fall though my engine compartment.
I knew right away I forgot to put to Nut back on and it fell off of my valve cover and out of the engine.

I checked my Haynes manual, but it doesn't give any sizes.

Thanks in advance.

Just go to advanced or autozone and tell them what car you have and they'll have the part your looking for.. Thats what ive done a while ago when I had the stock battery.

I have gotten them at NAPA before without a problem. They have a bin full of them behind the counter (at most stores) that they can match up and sell you.

IIRC, they should be a standard size for all side-mount batteries.
