Ok... Ive been lately getting electrical issues with my 96 cavalier. For sum reason since ive put a new alternator on my ride, i wont get over 12 volts. When the car is running and when im reving the car, im losing power.. For example, my voltage will drop underneath 12 volts... Another situation is while im driving, my volt guage with show the needle bouncing back n forth from12 to 14 really fast like a windshield wiper...
I took the battery and the alternator to Autozone and got both of them tested 2 see if they were good or not.. And they both tested good. One of the employees said that i probably have a bad ground somewhere and i also told the guy that ive been getting engine noise through my speakers for the past year..
On my way home driving my battery dropped 2 8 volts and the car died on me. I had to jump the car about 5 times just to get it home when i was less than 5mins away from my house.
I jus was wondering if anybody has had this a similar issue or might know wat the problem could be.. I already know i might be paying hundreds of dollars for labor...
It sounds like a loose connection someplace.
I would start by checking all your battery and alternator connections
