Newbie here! 4 door rust question.

Hi,my name is Dave and I just bought my mom a 1999 4 door Cavalier. It has 25k original miles and in really fantastic shape.
I have a question, though. I am concerned about surface rust developing on the bottoms of the doors. I have noticed it is a common problem with the 4 doors. Is there a way to inhibit the issue? Maybe POR-15? I welcome all comments. Thanx! Dave.

Well, For the most problem, Dave, reason why cars get rust spots are due to exposed metal surfaces like welded seams, Primer and paint have been damaged, In which metal becomes weak from mosture, Then metal gets rusted from road grime & salt is another problem, To prolong youre youre cars body panels, Is to use a rubber undercoating, Also have youre car paint finish always kept clean, In which the clear coat lasts longer, Also the paint stays good.

Good Luck.
