Hi, I was in the process of dynamatting my trunk and to pinpoint where my rattles where coming from when I looked at my muffler, there's a hole of about 1 inch ! It looks like it was caused by rust.
What I wanted to know is, is it dangerous to drive with a hole in the muffler, it doesn't sound loud at all (stock muffler btw).
If I were to do something, would it be better to patch it or to completely buy a new one ?
Thanks.
I don't think it's unsafe, but it will probably only get worse as the muffler continues to deteriorate. You would probably want to keep an eye on it, and be prepared to replace it in the near future. If the hole is rusted, it's unlikely that a patch would stay around long enough to make much difference.

I want to change my muffler but keep my stock pipes, but when I checked at a performance shop, they told me I couln't keep them cause they were 2" and all the mufflers were 2"1/4 or 2"1/2. Is there one I could fit ?
I have heard good things about the dynomax super turbo here, I think I will go with that, but it isn't an exact fit cause it's 2"1/2... so, where can I buy these pipe fitters ?
Also, will the muffler fit with the stock bracket (the muffler support) or will I have to buy a new one ?

Dude just replace the muffler and you can find any pipe fitting adapters at any automotive store i.e. (Checkers, Advanced, AutoZone) They all carry them just know what size you need to come from your exhaust and what size it needs to go to the muffler. Get some U-clamps for both ends and then see if you can find someone to weld them shut to ensure no leaks. Its all relatively easy besides the welding your probabaly gonna need some help on that
You just got free preformance muffler.
