Hi all,
does anybody know where the Catalytic Convertor is on a 2.2 cavalier 1997. Is it the box in the middle of the tailpipe, underneath middle of the car?
I am getting a rattling noise that increases with acceleration at low speeds only, its fine at high speeds. I think its the cat? Either that or broken hangers.

Yes it is.
I have a similar sound happening every time I take off.

For me it is my exhaust hitting the rear axle from being tweaked by running over ice at the end of the driveway (long story).

Another possibility is the heat shield, most likely the screws need tightening.
