Take a look, get a new oil pan?
Tuesday, May 01, 2007 10:14 AM
Had the car jacked up, checking my right side strut when I noticed this -

Could this be the cause of my "low oil pressure light coming on every once and awhile? ( like every other trip or so, and only on for like half a minute ).

Looks like an intact, dry oil pan to me. Am I missing a leak or something?

Thats not a dent where those 4 indentation marks are at? I thought that those indentations might be from a jack or somethin. ( Took it to a shop bout a month ago )

I haven't looked at a 2.2L oil pan in awhile, but those indentations look too precise to be made from a jack. Either way, the oil pan looks bone dry, meaning that even if they're not supposed to be there, they're not leaking.

those small dimples are normal. It looks to me like there is sort of a concave hump where they are at though, which is absolutely abnormal. If that IS a dent, you can try pulling the pan, and gently hammer it out.
