Ok, i made a post last week about a bunch of problems i was having removing the fuel filter and about something inside the old tank..
I still haven't got my car back on the road. I cannot get the pump back into the tank? I am pretty sure that there has to be a way to disconnect the fuel return line from the pump. there is some sort of fitting up near the filter, however I cannot for the life of my figure out how to disconnect it. Guys at Mews Chevrolet said that the fitting doesn't disconnect, and where the return line actualyl connects to the pump it is on insanly tight.
Picture of the top of pump =>
outlined in green is a random hose, that i have no idea where it goes? does it vent to atmosphere, part of evap thing??
The return line, is the third line from the left. No disconnect on the pump. See picture below for fitting..
This picture shows the evap canister, the fuel filter (which i finally got off) and a random fitting on the return line? Is there anyway to disconnect this?
We can't get the old pump into the new tank, and being able to take the pump right out of the car would make life so much easier. Would the plastic part of the return line be able to be cut, and use some sort of compression fitting union type thing to re-connect it back together?? Man this stupid tank changing thing is taking way to long.
Any and all help is greatly GREATLY appreciated. Does anybody have experience with this??
