I was just curious has anybody here use engine treatment before? Does the stuff work? I see it in automotive stores all the time, and also i heard when getting a oil change to replace the last quart of oil you would normally use with ATF? just off what is Atf and does it help clean out the engine?

The only time I have ever used ATF in the engine was this.

This car was in for an oil change one day, 3.8 V6, GM engine in the car, was a Pontiac I think. Came back five weeks later. Was over 3 quarts low on oil. When you started it up the lifters were very very noisy, heard the car like 7 bays away, most people would think it was junk right then.

Ran it for a while at idle, until the lifters got filled back up, then used one quart of ATF, drove for 10 miles to quiet it down, and help get the lifters back to fully full, I cant think of the technical term right now.

Anyways it did fill the lifters up and quiet it down, good as new.

then I drained all that oil and ATF, and refilled with oil.

You should never just add ATF, just because, you think it may clean it out. It wont.

Keep the oil in the engine and the ATF in the trans.

As far as engine cleaner stuff, I dont add anything to my oil, but oil.
