Hello,

My 96 sunfire sounds like an airplane Like RRRRRRRRRRRR. It is very loud. It seems to be coming from the front right. I have changed the bearing thinking that was the problem but the sound is still there. I have also switched the tires around just in case.

Could the CV joints make that kind of sound.

Hope somebody has had this experience cause this is my only car for my family right now.

is it like a humming noise when you go to third gear?

It seems to do it pretty much right away. but loudest at around 30 km/h

loudest at 30 Km/h and over.

could it be brake related?

I checked the caliper and pads and there not sticking so no I dont think so. I know that when cv joints go bad they make a popping noise when you turn them. But do they make a constant roaring noise also no matter which way the wheels are pointing????

Make sure the dust shield on the back of the rotor isn't touching the rotor. Used to happen all the time when I worked for Midas. Makes a constant roar just like you describe.
