can't find problem?
Friday, March 30, 2007 8:03 AM
I have an 02 z24 cavy and when i accelerate from shifting i get a delayed response like i press the gas and it hesitates then goes... the worse part is it doesn't do it all the time. i've already changed fuel filter and put new plugs in... however when i was changing the plugs (looking at the enginge) the far right plug had redish oil on it, it smelled like engine oil and coolant but i'm not sure.. does anyone know what this could be?? any imput is great!

hows it going Kevin, If you got oil fouled a spark plug, Youre either looking at valve guide messed up, In which means youre gonna need youre cyl head rebuilt, Now if you got coolant mixed up in it, Well youre looking at a cyl hd or a cyl head gasket job, In which bit of a cash job, If you got a shop to do it, If you can do it youre self you could save some $$$$. You might want to get a compression test done as well. That will comfirm youre problems.

Good Luck

well thanks to all that helped... it turns out that the small amount of oil on the plug had nothing to do with the problem i was having. (or at least not yet). turns out that i had a hole in one of my vacuum lines coming out of the throttle, about a 8inch piece of hose, just replaced it and for the last five days the car has been running like a dream!!! just thought i'd let you all know in case of similar problems..
