So pretty much there it is. I have the body but bored the cat out straight through and have had the check engine light on for a while now. I need to get my car through inspection and remember hearing something on here about putting a resistor across the O2 sensor after the CAT. Would appreciate any more information on this. And before anyone points it out, yes I know it was dumb to bore the cat out and I don't have the extra money for a new one and will be selling car this summer but need to get through inspection in the meantime. Thanks in advance.

i really don't mean to be an ass about this, but i'm really getting tired of these threads: "hey i cut off/gutted my cat and now it wont pass inspection. help me break the law guys! how can i make it so i can drive my car illegally?" seriously, ether fix the cat, or dont get it inspected. again, not being an ass, but this is how they all sound to me. /rant
anyway, spark plug anti-fouler. available at any parts store, drill it out so the o2 fits in it, reinstall the o2 sensor, boom. you're done.

Thank you for the answer.

Here in California, depending on how thorough the referee is going to be, he'll want to see the cat. meaning they'll look under the car for it. And then of course run the usual tests. If you fail the visual, then you just pretty much fail outright.
