Low power, hesitation, bad MPG when it gets warm
Tuesday, March 27, 2007 5:49 PM
Whever it gets warm the performance of the engine goes way down, and it runs a lot better when its cold out. Whenever i take of it sometimes sputters, and hesitates, and i get horrible gas millage, and the computer doesnt send any codes, any have any ideas??

And when i say warm, i mean the tempature outside, it runs better when the temp is about 30-40 degrees out

Have you tried clearing the memory even thought there were no codes?

Sorry just a guess....

Sounds like it's getting more fuel than it needs or can fire. What happens if you unplug the IAT and run it?

I've got worse. Seems like since I had put in a new rebuilt 2.2L in my '94 truck at 165000, the mileage that I got with the troubled old block that I got at 125000 and put in just a crank, bearings, MSD Superconductors and Splitfires (they were still of good quality then) of 24.5. Now since someone said " Try wiping the temp memory by pullin' the ECM BAT fuse then puttin' it back.", she runs worse than ever! I know this engine in this trim runs much better than this when all is right, and between this thing gettin' less than 18 instead of at least 23.5 on average and fuel having shot past $3 a gallon for 87octane by me at the cheap station, I say "Please, someone help us!".

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

Intake gasket is new, and so are the coil packs, so i guess everything might point to the injectors, conisdering the sensors have been tested, and all are sending the right signals, but i cant afford new injectors right now, so we'll see.....

yeah, ive been having the same problem for a long time, it just studders after i pull out and come to a stop. If i come to a complete stop and drive again its fine. i'm guessing its a glitch in the computer. Does anyone else have a problem with the ABS light being on almost all the time, maybe that has something to do with it?
