ok guys in a 97 sunfire vert i'm looking for the airbag module, i looked under the center con and it's not there. where else are they put? And yes i searched

Either under the passenger side seat (Where my 01 Z is, and I know all 2000+ J's, or under the dash on the drivers side.

it is under the passenger seat, pretty much dead center under the seat. it will be under the carpet.

be VERY careful unhook the battery before you touch it. the bags WILL deploy when you pick it up if they are not already.

i experienced this first hand when i was dismantling cars, man it scared the @!#$ out of me and almost took off my head.
