95 cavalier. just bought and put in a new engine noticed that i had a 1/4 turn of the steering wheel before the wheels moved, i crawled under the car and noticed that 1 bolt had backed out 3/4 of the way from the steering rack and the other is gone. is this a common problem? anyone think that is why i am having the play in the wheel? this sucks!
i would definetly get the bolts back in for safety..Could be the gear is worn or missing some teeth

Yeah, one of my mechanics did not bolt a bolt tight enough, thus it was loose and every bump I heard a click. I torqued it and it was all gone.
