as the title stated i just got a new oil change with Mobil1.. should i still change it every 3k miles or can i let it go to like 5k or 7500? i know that synthetic is supposed to last a bit longer so wut do u guys think?

most people will tell you to stick with 3000. even on the label of Mobil 5000, 7500, and extended performance 15000 they tell you to always follow the manufacturers reccomended change intervals. i have used Mobil 1 and castrol syntec, think i like the syntec better myself, and i stay with the 3000 mile interval. the oil is usually pretty dark by then. one thing many people skip over is the filter. a quality filter is as important as quality oil. i use Purolater Pure 1 filter in my car, but its an Ecotec and i havent seen any other top-end filters for it. if you have a 2.4 i think K&N makes a very good filter for that engine, maybe the 2.2/2200 too.

I use a PureOne filter too. Fram is junk. You can change the oil every 6K, but change the filter every 3K.
