Hey whats go'in on, oh my first post so exciting. Just joined the org today. This is my second Cavi , there was an incident with the last one, I'll post pics soon. Anyways I have to replace the water pump and headgasket on my 98 Z. It has almost 200,000 kms so it figure it was about time. Of course i searched but I need a complete parts list of what you guys think should be replaced. I have an idea, of what should be done since I took automotive in school, but I 've never worked on an LD9. So im asking the experts.
Thanks Guys

Hate to say it, but you really should search some more.

Try "2.4 water pump" for search terms, make sure to check the 'Message Bodies' box...then enjoy some reading.

The 2.4 water pump replacement has been discussed numerous times, and the process has been well documented in this forum.

Be aware it's a lot more work than any water pump should be.

It's expensive, but I've known well-skilled DIY'ers opt to have a shop do the work because of the labor time involved.

Good luck.

im one of those diy'ers. i worked in a truck for 5 years, since i was 16 and i can rebuild a tractor trailer engine with my eyes closed but i cringe at the thought of a 2.4 water pump job! deffinatly way more than a water pump should be

thanks, i wasn't quite aware of the message body option, I pretty much found what i needed in regards to the timing, I getting the head plained, anything else that could be done considering the amount of kms. I found a local shop that will do the work for $500, plus im getting any parts I need for cost since I got the car from a dealer and the pump went bad within 30 days.
