what is the suggested maintanance i could perform to restore my vehicle's performance?

I'd also add in there, change the air filter, rotate wheels/tires, and change the coolant.

Note:

If you havent changed your ATF fluid, or it hasnt been changed since 125,000 I would recommend you let it go.

As far as the spark plugs go, I hope someone or you has taken then out of there in the last 30,000-40,000. If not they tend to seize in the head, and I have seen them snap and you have remove the head to get the old one out, than rethread, than reinstall.
