How to disconnect fuel lines under hood
Wednesday, January 17, 2007 3:27 PM
Im replacing my head gasket, ive disconnected everything else, vacuum lines, coolant lines, sensors, power steering pump (including intake manifold brace), and exhaust manifold. How and WHERE do i disconnect the fuel lines. Im following the chilton and haynes manuals (ive heard they are the same company) and they recommend some tool J18somethin or other. I cant get to a dealership right now, is this the only way? Also, if anyone knows another way of doing it, without disconnecting fuel lines, please tell me. THANX!!!

Fuel line disconnect tool. Any auto parts store should have it. basically, it goes over the metal fuel lines, and slides into the fitting while pushing against the "teeth" that hold the fuel hoses on the line.
