P0341 Trouble Code: Camshaft Position Sensor
Monday, January 08, 2007 3:19 PM
Hi ppl,

I was driving my car the last night and the Check Engine Light came on... turned off the car, turned it on again and it was still on. After driving for a few minutes, the ABS and brake light came on for less than a second and the Check Engine Light went off...

Scanned it today, and got the P0341 Trouble Code: Camshaft Position Sensor Performance. btw, I have it deleted right now, but don't know if it will come on again.

What does it mean? Do I have to change it? Clean it? Repair it? Where is the location of the sensor?

btw, I'm having to hard depress the gas pedal while turning on the engine. Sometimes have to try 3 times, because the engine shuts off at idle. Is that sensor causing me those problems?

Thanks for your feedback!

If the wires aren't damaged, the only thing you can do is replace the sensor. Not a bad idea to get one now, if only for backup. It is possible what may have happened is simply a hiccup glitch.

An Intermittent problem may be caused by the following conditions:

Check any suspected circuitry for the following conditions:
-Backed-out terminals
-Improper mating
-Broken locks
-Improperly formed or damaged terminals
-Poor terminal-to-wiring connections
-Physical damage to the wiring harness

Location:

Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor
Rear center of engine, to the passenger side of the coil packs
