Ok so the starter doesnt always start but its really random against 3 possible results. When I turn the key it'll either:
-start normally (doesnt struggle or anything)
-not start but you can hear the solenoid clack good and strong, after a few times it'll turnover and start
-not start and the solenoid does NOT clack
Arccording to the guy i bought the car from, supposedly the starter is new, but i dont know if it was changed as an assembly, ie i dunno if the solenoid was changed with the starter, or visa versa. so in essence i dont know which part is new, they both look kinda new. anyway, being that sometimes the solenoid clacks and sometimes it doesnt my only guess would be the starter solenoid is bad and those are cheap so weee. but then again, if the solenoid is actuating, but the starter isnt turning, the starter motor could be bad... both cases are hit and miss wtf. does anyone have any other input? could there be a problem with the ignition switch or....? what do you suggest?
it was really embarassing have all of my friends help push start my car in a dirt parking lot after we're leaving a bar/club after closing with a 100 people watching, laughing and cheering lmao
How old is youre battery, Might want to get digital meter to test how many volts you got running. Also could have a corrioded terminals, Also youre solenoid could be failing.
Check the connection for the starter ground.

Try checking your positive battery terminal, and the positive big lug on the starter as well.
