150,000 miles and still rollin'

Other than a valve cover gasket while under warranty, a couple of A/C compressors, the typical thermostat and water pump, and a heater core (a DIY I don't recommend now) my car has been very trouble free!

I rolled over 150,000 miles last week. Still not burning oil, and no noisy lifters. Now I'd like to say I've driven it like a grandma but that would be a huge lie. I haven't raced it in a few thousand miles but it's definitetly had it's fair share of redlining. I love to drive this car! And every time I start to feel like I don't... I drive someone elses Buick, old Mazda or Ford every time I come back with new found love!

When it comes to maintence I do watch over it pretty well though. I've used Mobil 1 Synth for the last 100,000 miles and I've done other small things like change the transmission fluid every 35k miles and coolant every 40k (even though it says it's okay for 150,000).

It sad to see less and less of these great cars on the road in my area, especially ones that don't sound like they have thrown a rod!

My sister-in-law and her husband just had their car totaled by some moron who doesn't know how to yield- so I think we're going to give them my Cavi so it stays in the family.

But I wanted to stay in the GM family so it looks like I'll be going to an '06 V6 Saab Aero 9-3 soon. I'll keep posted on what we do.
Just wanted to share my warm 150,000 experience
