I have a 95 2.2 that has been having a flickering/lit oil light after getting hot and while idling. It has already been checked, and the pressure is good. I've been told that the sending unit is most likely bad.
So I was wondering where exactly the unit is on the 2.2, and if I might be able to save an hour's worth of labor by replacing it myself? As long as I could access it from the top, I'd prob. be able to do it. I've replaced radiators, alternators, and other misc stuff, but nothing really "hardcore".
I found an old thread about this, but there was no specific location listed for the oil sending unit, and I couldn't determine from the thread if it was something I'd be capable of doing or not. One thing I know is that I'll need a special socket for the part. Please post if you can help, Thanks!
hate to reply to my own post, but from the looks of the picture on autozone.com's repair guide.........I can't get it from the top. If anyone knows otherwise, please post. Thanks,
its on the bottom towards the front of the pan.(front of car part) if you have a jack and jackstand you can get it done fairly quick
Thanks for the reply......... I'll post again with any progress....
