ok it might just be that i need new pads in the front but when i brake i hear squeeling and the car doesn't seem to want to stop sometimes. only sometimes though. like it'll grab, abs will kick in and the works. usually it's right after i start the car up. it's really bad sometimes. and i hear a ticking from the back to. something wrong with the back. it's hard to explain but i feel like the car braking system doesn't want to catch sometimes.
any input would be appreciated
well first check the brake fluid. if its low then what you should do is take your wheels off and inspect each brake pad and rotor. look at the pads and see if they are thin. be sure to check both too. your pads may be sticking and the inside pad will be worn much more than the outside pad. check the rotor as well to see if there is any damage to it. it should be smooth on both sides.
if you have low brake fluid it may be a sign that the pads are worn because then the caliper piston has to move farther to make contact to the brake pads.
i hope this helps some
Hey for you ABS thing... Check your wheel Speed senors. How you do that i dont know... I just use a Modus scan tool and use Live Data mode which can graph wheel speed sensors and tell you what each wheel is rotating at.
Heya Andy Jung, I would get inspecting youre brakes soon as possible, get front brakes & rear brake shoes inspected as well, As youre explaining : while braking you hear squeeling and the car doesn't seem to want to stop sometimes. Its all brake fade, It accurs when youre brakes are wornout, Even tips TJ Dowty is saying as well, Look into those. If it keeps happening, rear shoes could be wornout, Or possible shoe adjustment.
Good Luck.
