Some help please?
Monday, November 13, 2006 8:17 PM
Ok so to make a long story short, I was driving today and because of stupid people with cell phones, I ended up hitting a curb pretty D$@& hard! And I checked it out really quick as I had to be to work soon and the lip had a decently long piece chipped out of it but the seal seems to be good and I didn't see much else wrong with it. It still drives fine but when I reach speeds of about 50 mph I can hear a sort of rubbing sound that lasts about a second with like 1 second intervals. It isn't a screeching sound like metal or a thumping sound it just kind of sounds like something is rubbing against something. So if anybody has any ideas on what it could be I'd appreciate it.

Could have a bent rim, Best thing to do is get the front end jacked up in the air, Both front tires off, Inspect & phyiscally move tie rod ends lower control arm, Strut, Inspect ball joints or rim. Could be as easy is getting a wheel aligment.

With youre hands tung on steering componets for looseness, Play, If you got a buddy or mechanic friend to help you out, If not could just take it in to a local mechanic. Its pretty easy deeeeej, I know you can do it.

Good Luck
