My guess is that if you searched the Performance and/or Newbie forums, you'd find all the info you needed and then some.

I'm pretty sure I've read of some successful swaps of this type, so there's more than likely some first-hand knowledge on the subject.

I do know that this subject has been covered in the past, so searching really will be your best bet.

As a general rule, however...

For a swap as you've described, for most people, any gains are more than negated by the cost/effort/time that is required to complete the project.

in other words, if you want a Cavalier with an eco, you'd be better off in the long run trading in your car for the one you want.
