cam specs

i had to change my timeing chain cover on my 2.4L z24 motor which meant chain and gears had to come off...now i have the new plate on and i need to line back up my cams does anyone know what they are suppose to be set at EXACTLY......i cant @!#$ this up lol let me know asap peace

Are you putting everything back together just like that with no spec or what?

1- No need to take the gear and chain off to change the cover
2- If you took the timming set off it's because you changed the housing
3- The procedure has been post alot of times before.
4- If you would have done it right, you would have a repair manual witch tell you what to do.

There is a small hole on each cam sprocket which you insert a bolt, the hole on the housing is at approximatly 6 Oclock the key way on the crank shaft must point at 12 oclock.

This was in my manual for a 95 to 01 cavilier / Sunfire
