I noticed that there is a crack in my passenger side cv boot and I was wondering if I can just replace the boot or if i have to replace the axle?? If it can't be changed is there anything i can do to try and prolong the life of the axle??

You can just replace the boot. If you know what you are doing you can do it in about 30 minutes.

yeah, you can replace it... depending on how long its been cracked though you may wanna replace the whole thing... it may have not started clicking yet, but my guess is it will, especially if you hit any water at all while it's been cracked...

ok, any ballpark on how much the boot is?? and the axle?? I can handle most automotive repairs myself so thats not a problem. If I do replace the boot is there any kind of grease or anything I can put back in the joint??
