Does anyone have any usefull information concerning a radiator flush? I searched the subject and what I found was really useless. I have a haynes manual, however it can be confusing on certain issues. One question in particular is where is the drain plug for the block?
The water drain plug is on the bottom of the water pump housing, back right hand side of engine(as looking at engine from front of car), its a 13mm plug.
A true flush requires a transfusion type machine, but a complete drain like this is almost as good.

How often should this be done, and are there any benefits using any additives?
If you live in a warm(year round) climate your best bet is straight distilled water and a good additive(Evans andothers make these)
In colder or less temperate climates the best additives already come in a high quality coolant, use a 50/50 mix of high quality coolant and distilled(or just drinkable) water. I dont like to let DexCool go past 3yrs or 50k miles. Traditional "green" coolant is 2yrs or 30k miles.
