AC leaking oil

Hello All,

Well, my car is leaking a very little bit of oil (I think its oil because its light brown drip) and i've been lazy to go under the car in a hot sun until today. I checked my oil and its still full so im wondering what the hell it is so I went under and i noticed it was coming from the AC motor which is driven by the belt. In a way i was relieved it was not coming from the motor. So, It's been leaking VERY VERY VERY VERY SLOWLY. Maybe one or two drip per week. thats how slow. My question is... is the AC motor shot or what?

YES.... i did a search and didnt see anything that might help me and I also read the AC faq.

Oil used in a/c systems will be a lighter color and more transparent.

Before getting a new compressor, try using the a/c 134a stop leak first. It might just be a seal that thinned out. Also check the o-rings. If your really bold, buy the 134a with a florescent dye in it and see where it is coming from.
...

I mean its a cheaper alternative than a new compressor but since summers over, this will buy you time to figure out what to do.

Hope it helps
