Hey All,
I have a 2005 Sunfire with about 24000 kms on it. I've had a sort of howling/ whining noise coming from the left rear of the car for a while now, but since it wasn't very prominent and I've been told that these cars are known for noisy fuel pumps I've been ignoring it. Recently however it has become irritatingly loud, specially at idle. Its seems to decrease when I put accessories on (lights, A/c etc) but is still noticable. The oddest part is that it won't come if the car has been turned on by remote start. As soon as I put the key in and turn it to run, the noise is back. This part has me extremely confused.
Any help on what this could be would be awesome.
Thanks,
Rish
hmmm no grinding?. My guess is premature wheel bearing failing?. My 01 has weird tire noise in the front, In which is normal with front wheel drive cause power transfer, Something you dont notice as much in a rear wheel drive car.
Thanks for the input. Turns out noise was from the fuel pressure regulator.
