hey is there anything out there to stop my windsheild from keep cracking. A rock flew from a big truck and put a nice mark on the window, and last night she start to crack anyway to stop it before she goes all the way... besides buying a new one, can't afford it right now.
thanks
Call your insurence company. Same thing happend when I had my Grand Am, and all it cost me was the $50 deductible and it was replaced. Cross your fingers that that is part of your insurence plan.
yea, no real way to stop something like that. once its comprimised you need a new one. and you can get a reallly hefty ticket for driving around like that... so go to your insurance company, and see what they say... they should cover this. and if not, find the money.
Windshield repair shop says if the impact/spider crack is no bigger than a quarter and a line crack is no longer than
6 inches, I believe, are repairable. But you'll still see where the damage is, but not much. If the damage is not obscuring
your vision, like if it's in front of your pass. or somwhere out of your way, then you should be good.
But it's all up to you. Call repair shop or insurance.
If it's just a crack, fill it with superglue and take a razor to the outside edge to make it smooth. This should keep the water and moisture out and hopefully stop it form cracking for a while. Replacement is your best bet though. Specially if it's cracked all the way thru where you can feel it on both sides.
not sure where you live but in Florida the insurance company suppose to pay to replace with with out a deductable.

yea if its smaller than a quater it can be repaired
If it's a line crack you can use a glass cutter to direct it by makeing a tiny score in the direction you want it to go (like toward an edge).
