2 weeks ago i had a CEL come on. missfire on #3. so i pulled the plugs the one in cylinder 3 the prong seem to have melted off. i just figured they were old (using autolie 103)
now i have NGK tr6 in. same thing happened. had the car towed since it was having trouble idling. so i find out samething happened in cylinders 1 & 2. plugs were replaced. still runs like crap.
going to replace the coil packs tommorow.
any ideas what might cause this? i also run nitrous. 55 shot.

Here's a dumb idea but is it possible that your nitrous isn't getting enough extra fuel when you shoot it and your leaning out?

i doubt that since the feul soleniod is working and i over jet for the feul.

I was having the same problem... me and a friend replaced the ignition housing and it cleared it up.... I did how ever get one misfire since replacing it when i did a 3rd gear pull then kept it at the high rpms to help me slow down. Other then that i havent had a problem..... check the white housing part where the contact points touch the springs going to the plugs if it looks black anywhere on it chances your having ignition arch
What color was the plug? Missfiring doesn't cause peices of spark plug to melt off. Excessive combustion chamber temperatures or a spark plug that isn't the right heat range for what the enigne is doing does...So, it's either leaning out, detonating like a motherfk or just plain running too hot for the plugs you have in there...What did the piston crown look like???

from what i can see 1 & 2 look clean 3 & 4 are starting to get black.
i might have screwed up my engine greater than i thought. thanks anyway

ive actually been having the same damn problem. i change the plugs and my car runs okay for a little while then it does it again, ive checked the coils and they are both at the correct resistance, and the coil housing looks fine. also, i went to advanced to get a diagnostic since the CEL is on. and i got DTC P0133, P0300, P1810. i doubt a slow response from the 02 sensor (dtc p0133) could be causing misfiring, and p0300 is kind of like duh i know there is a random misfire, and dtc p1810 is pressure switch manifold. im not sure if map sensor could be the problem, but i sorta tested it to see what would happen, i idled the car and pulled the map sensor out and nothing happened. just continued to idle rough. could map sensor have something to do with it?
