as im coming out of work this morning, as im shifting from 2nd to third, there's a noticeably loud pop that comes from the exhaust just as i let the clutch out, nothing major, i just chalk it up to a free flow exhaust, as its done it on three or four other occasions. but i was just going to a friends house, and this time, same noise, but going from first to second. engine is pretty much up to temp, no cel, fresh rebuild (only like 4000 miles ago), no mods other than cat-back and tach signal sender. could it be that my plug wires have a little bit of crosstalk? i will admit i did have my foot in it a little bit, but ive never had it do this more than once every two months. twice in one day kinda has me wondering what the problem could be.

oh yeah, also forgot to mention that the car doesn't lost any power when this happens, just a nice loud pop and away it goes

Has youre car had a resent tune up : plugs wires / Coil packs been tested.
You could have a plugged or Leaky injector.Or a vaccum leak in the Intake or intake gasket. Possibly burnt Valves, Timing chain issues.

yah, like i said, fresh rebuild, all new parts. new plugs, new wires, new gasgets, new seals, new pistons, new crank, new cam, new valves,new wires, new coils, new module, new lifters, you name it, its new with the exception of the bock.
