my question is how much of the fluid you need ? how often do i need to change it? right now my car is at 182k and i never changed it before, so should i go ahead and change it?? what do you all think?

There is no need to change the fluid unless it has somehow become dirty. Check the level of it when your car is cool and parked on level ground. Take off the cap, wipe the dipstick off, put the cap back on, pull it off again and read. The dipstick is marked where the level should be. In theory it should be full since the power steering fluid really doesn't get "used up." If its low, fill it to the line and check it again at a later date to be sure you don't have a leak.

ALL fluids should be changed at certain intervals. All fluids are for lubricating and cooling...they not only take the heat away, but like Oil, they take the contaminents/ debris with it.
