everytime i push the gas past 1/4 it sputters and sounds kindof like a wrx but runs like shyt. the check engine light was blinking for a minute, then shut off.

o yeah also i had to refill my dex-cool twice now and it still needs more........WTF!!!!!

Sounds like a blown head gasket and coolant is leaking into the cylinders causing it to run like crap.

Try replacing both of your oxygen sensors. I have a '98 z22 and I had a jitter coming from the motor after long drives then when I came to a stop it would barely fire on all cylinders and stay running. I replaced both oxygen sensors and it fixed that problem. (My engine light would come on too and go off like you said) But, I'm just starting to have this loss of power and similar WRX sound. I thought about replaceing plugs, wires, timing chain, and tensioner, but it sounds like I also may have the blown head gaskette problem. --I hope not.

How were you losing coolant? Was it leaking from the engine somewhere or are you burning it (if that's possible)?
