like it says

had lots of rain in the chicago area yesterday

making a right turn i drove through a pretty large puddle, not at high speed

after that happened i noticed that the battery light came on

car drove home fine

this morning, go to start it, starts and runs fine

drove all the way to work (about 30 mins), and all the way back home, still driving fine

do you think the puddle shorted something out?

or do you think the puddle just got something wet that freaked out the computer?

will resetting the computer help?

anyone got any ideas?

your alternator probably got wet. take it to get it checked.

i wouldnt wory about it its only a light if the car still runs fine id just forget about it

well, it got worse

driving during the day on one way trips, it did fine

the other night, driving back from my girlfriends in the rain, started having issues

dimming dash lights, ABS light, slow wipers

took off my alternator to have it checked

it failed

changed my alternator, everythings all good

i love doing my own car repairs

I was reading down and was thinking hey this sounds like mine I was driving from montreal to home in toronto and halfway in no wheresville (napanee) it started raining very heavy and the engine light came on and abs and batt then it started putting then stalled long story short it was the alternator

sorry i wasn't a day or two earlyier to tell ya have it looked at
