Help~!!! before i get a ticket...

i got in my car tonight and i turn it on as usual. then i turn the knob to turn on the headlights but they dont come on and my drl light is stil on? anybody know wuts goin on? i pulled back on the handle to see if my brights would come on also. they seem to work but they wont click and stay on, it just goes back to drl's. im lost and i drive alot at night so i need help before i have to go to a sorry gm dealer....

Could be youre head light switch, Sometimes those switches wearout over time, Just need to get another front the dealer or wrecking yard.

ive replaced the switch in each of my cavaliers.. its ur switch and no i dont think ushould buy from a dealer..

definitely switch, I had the same problem, i hear its common. not sure if its same as sunfire but mine is on the turn signal switch, and you just take out 3 screws holding the plastic plate between the steering wheel and dash, and theres i think 2 or 3 screws holding the module in. take those out, it unplugs, the new one plugs right in. I bought a replacement off eBay for like 20 bucks, i think the dealer asks over 100.

hope that helps again, this is for a sunfire not sure if its the same...

I agreed with the others on the fact that it's the switch.. Read a few posts on here looking for my problem with my DRLs staying on (my problem was different) but your behavior was pretty well confirmed to be a bad switch by other posters here in the past.

yea, my mechanic took it apart and put it back together and it seems to be working now, but still hasnt diagnosed the problem. hopefully its just the switch..
