AC Problem
Monday, August 07, 2006 4:36 PM
Ok my AC has not been working at all this summer so far, and right now it is reaching 100F+ by noon here and I'm in a black Cavalier 2.4. I figured I was low on freon so I just had it filled. It was a bit low but was still holding it. I had it filled up the rest of the way, [well it is a tiny, tiny bit over filled]. Anyways it is blowing cool air now instead of hot air. I was looking at the ac lines and what i beleve to be called the heat line? It is the only one that is getting cold, all the other lines and the large canister all the lines plug into are hot to the touch. Any ideas what the problem could be? When I turn on the MAX AC it feels about what it would be like if I had it on the lowest setting. It blows hard but not as cold as it should be. The only problem that I know of with my unit is all the vents blow no matter what setting it is on. I was told that a vaccum line is off somewhere, I have no clue where but somewhere. Would that have a reason as to why my ac is not blowing as cold as it should be? And where should I start looking for the vaccum lines for my AC? Thanks.

Oh, and before you flame me and tell me to read the AC Facts or do a search I read everything and nothing in there even comes close to what problem I have. My AC is working it just sucks real bad. The air is not cold just chilled. The only thing I can really think of is there might be blockage somewhere. I know nothing about AC units and I'm not going to attempt anything until I have some answer. Thanks ahead of time to whomever helps me.
