troubleshooting code P0113
Friday, August 04, 2006 3:00 PM
My check engine light came on so i went to auto zone to get it checked. The code comes up as p0113 it says "The pcm has determined that the input from the intake air temperature sensor is higher than expected for the current engine operating conditions." I already changed the air temp sensor still have the CE light on. The car is also shifting hard and sometimes the needle for the tach jumps 20 or 30 rpms. Can anyone tell me what is wrong w/ my car and how to fix it. Thanks

Well, not sure how all these things might be related, but the DTC PO113 is most likely a bad IAT sensor or poor/faulty connections between the sensor and the PCM. If you have already changed the sensor, you might want to verify the connections/wires are good. The fault code PO113 is set when a temperature of less than -40F is sensed. This would require the sensor to be at an unusually high resistance or that a wire or connection to the sensor is faulty that would also create a very high resistance to the PCM.
