so yesterday i got out of work and i had my ac on. i was at a red light and i decided to turn it off then i rolled down my window and the light turned green. i was in 1st gear (reved up at like 4-5rmp) then i switched 2 second and my shifter was loose. i dont know whats wrong with it. its stuck in first gear and i could only swith it to nutreal manually. i cant pop it in reverse and even if i have the shifter in another gear its still in first. i know its not the trany cuz its still drives in first. does any1 know what it might be???? ive heard some1 say that theres a pin on my shifter and all i have 2 do is take out my center console and fix it. is this true or does it sound like something more serious??? thanks in advance guys

Shifter cable either popped off on the shifter assembley, or under the hood. Mine did that and it scared the hell out of me for like, 15 seconds until I relized what had happened.

hahah. what a dick. lol jk. i had to clutch to push it back but when i clutch to shift it in another gear it doesnt work. im just stuck on first unless i shift it manually under the hood. i hope its just the cable. i had 2 get it towed to the shop and they wont look at it until monday so they are going 2 call me then.

You can shift it manually under the hood, the shifter is loose, sounds like bad linkage to me.
But with all luck involved with automobiles, theres a chance it could be something worse.
