About to change plug wires...
Monday, June 19, 2006 4:45 PM
My car has 97k miles on it and still (as far as I can tell) has the stock plug wires. So since I'm getting 19 mpg no matter how gently I drive, I'm thinking about trying new plug wires. My current ones measure about 5800 ohms / foot, and the Chilton's manual says 4,000 is spec while 6,000 ohms is too much.

Having searched (YES! I did!) I've learned that the recommended wires are Accel ones from Gravana Tuning. If I get those are they custom fit or will extra wires dangle everywhere? Any other brands of plug wires you'd recommend?

I was happy when I heard my car ran 10s. Then I found out that was 0-60.

Previous owner replaced the plugs with Delcos at about 90k miles and they look fine atm. Also decided I need a new air filter, assuming AC Delco is the best option again?
